Kelsie McNair of Soft Shapes returns to Shiny Sparkle Labs with a new five-week stained glass course that explores imagery, embellishment, and design from March 5th - April 2nd. 

Participants will design a stained glass panel with fused elements using frit and color as the primary tools. Frit, an often overlooked material, is crushed-up sheet glass of varying particle sizes. This material can be placed, brushed, or stenciled to create imagery and ornamentation within a stained glass design. 

For each class, McNair will introduce a new technique to bring your panel to completion, and students should expect to take away a completed panel of their design and creation. This is an all-level class and excellent for folks interested in fusing and copper foil-stained glass construction.

As part of the class, each session comes with a kiln firing and the necessary materials to load the kiln for your stained glass components. You'll also have access to tools and storage space needed to complete your masterpiece - soldering irons, grinders, and flat files. Glass can be purchased from the Shiny Shop, offering over 180 dazzling colors; you can choose as much or as little as you need to execute the panel of your dreams. Additionally, copper foils and solder for your project are available for purchase.
